Unblock of TlatoSMDI strongly disagree with your unilateral unblock of User:TlatoSMD. There was absolutely no consensus at all for him to be anything less than indefinitely blocked. I do request that you reblock him, as per consensus at the AN/I thread. Keilana|Parlez ici 18:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

I would like to have a copy of the source text so that I can rewrite it with content and a format acceptable to Wikipedia. Appreciate your help, Hu114sp (talk) 23:36, 15 February 2008 (UTC) Deletions on Central Intelligence AgencyThe blocks of text you deleted were all from U.S. government official documents, such as the Foreign Relations of the United States series published by the Department of State, as well as publications by CIA itself. U.S. government documents are not subject to copyright. I don't disagree with your removal of an estimate of a number of employees that I had originally challenged, as far too large; it was a figure that might fit the intelligence community as a whole but not CIA. May I ask that if you feel large deletions are necessary in an article, you first mention it on the talk page of that article? Howard C. Berkowitz (talk) 16:57, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Why not just put in blockquote when you are quoting and say "the following Govt document says [ref]:". Torturing yourself with paraphrasing is unnecessary if you just clearly delineate text-pulls as quotes. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. - auburnpilot talk 19:44, 3 March 2008 (UTC) Wikipedia Weekly Episode 42Hey there. Unspecified source for Image:Namcao.jpg![]() Thanks for uploading Image:Namcao.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged. As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Eternity Rites cover.jpgThank you for uploading Image:Eternity Rites cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by an adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 15:00, 16 May 2008 (UTC) Unprotect Request for Image:Eternity Rites cover.jpgHello. VatelI wanted to let someone know that a company called www.moviegoods.com that sells movie posters is placing images on the site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatel_(film) and embedding their website in the photos. I am certain this is not what Wikipedia is about. I found another version without any website here http://www.impawards.com/2000/posters/vatel_ver1.jpg, and I also found images of the film cover with a Google search http://images.google.com/images?q=Vatel&hl=en&sourceid=mozilla-search&num=20&start=0&start=0.Vault1996 (talk) 02:17, 21 January 2009 (UTC) |
