I'd like to see the concept of original sin being given a highlight on this page. The notion of original sin or in its secularised form 'human imperfection' has impacted both conservative tendencies as well as conservative philosophical systems, this fact has been distinguished by the Polish political scientist and scholar of conservatism Adam Wielomski.

He is not alone in defining conservatism in terms of original sin and mentions the work of José Rafael Hernández Arias in the form of Donoso Cortés und Carl Schmitt. Seriously? As above, this template is absolutely not the appropriate place to provide this kind of information. The article Original sin barely even mentions conservatism, so you must first discuss any such additions at Talk:Original sin instead. Once that article properly supports that original sin is specifically central to conservatism, then discuss there whether or not this template belongs. Adding "Fujimorism" as a Peruvian variant of conservatism

I still do maintain that many of the thinkers currently included are quite marginal and do not necessarily belong in a global template for conservatism as of now. The best course of actions as it now presents itself to me:

• (1) restore the list of intellectuals that I came up with

... while I'd...:

• (2) remove my idiosyncratic country labels
• (3) restore the original ordering by chronology
  • At that, however, I'd further suggest picking one major work in the invisible comment respectively and dating them accordingly...

@Trakking, you recently undid my addition of various Islamic theorists.[1] Excluding my very boilerplate literature section for good now, what speaks against including conservative Islam a fair bit more? Sure, it can't just be Islamic theology... and in that case, my lesser-known suggestions easily become notable enough for inclusion.

Other than that, we could surely include some intellectuals and politicians from e.g.: Template:Conservatism in China and Japan, right? Biohistorian15 (talk) 09:19, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I have already added Mishima from Japan. And we have added Qutb as a prominent representative from the Islamic world. If you can find a valuable representative from China, please add him.
