Pipedrive is a multinational cloud-based software as a service company founded in Estonia.[1] It is the developer of the web application and mobile app Pipedrive, a sales customer relationship management (CRM) tool. The company is headquartered in New York,[2] and has more than 800 employees in eight offices across Europe (Tallinn, Tartu, Lisbon, London, Prague, Dublin, Riga and Berlin) and two offices in the US (New York and Florida). As of 2025, Pipedrive's CRM is used by over 100,000 customers around the world.[3][4] In 2020, Pipedrive became the fifth Estonian-founded unicorn.[1]

History

Pipedrive was founded on June 21, 2010, by Timo Rein, Urmas Purde, Ragnar Sass, Martin Tajur, and Martin Henk. In 2011, Pipedrive joined AngelPad.[5] It was the only European startup of the 15 teams the accelerator hosted.[6]

By 2019, Pipedrive raised a total of $91.2 million in venture funding from Atomico, Bessemer Venture Partners, Paua Ventures, Rembrandt Venture Partners, and others.[7][8][9][10][11] In 2019, Financial Times included Pipedrive in the FT 1000, a list of Europe's fastest-growing companies.[12]

On November 14, 2020, Pipedrive received a majority investment from investment firm Vista Equity Partners and reached unicorn status, with a reported valuation of approximately $1.5 billion.[13]

Numerous former Pipedrive employees have founded successful SaaS ventures in the Baltic region and CEE, including startups such as Klaus and Outfunnel, and have become active angel investors and mentors within the community.[3][14][15]

Platform

The Pipedrive platform offers workflow automation capabilities that enable users to set up triggers and actions for tasks such as lead routing, follow-up reminders, and pipeline stage transitions. Integration with popular automation platforms like Zapier extends these possibilities. The integrations allow data to be synchronized with dozens of marketing and sales tools and ensuring information remains consistent across company systems.[16][17]

The platform offers native integrations with a wide range of widely used business tools, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, Mailchimp, Microsoft Teams, and Slack. In addition to these direct connections, the Pipedrive marketplace provides access to over 400 third-party applications.[17][18][19]
