Localizely is a translation management platform headquartered in Belgrade, Serbia. It was designed to simplify the translation process during the development of multilingual applications by streamlining collaboration among developers, designers, translators, and project managers.[1] Localizely operates as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform offering multiple plans, including a free plan with limited features and a no-cost option for open-source projects.[2]
History
Localizely was founded by Goran Luledzija, a software engineer from Serbia. The platform was created in response to recurring challenges in software localization workflows, such as the manual conversion between localization file formats and spreadsheets for translation, limited context during translation, and insufficient collaboration during the localization phase.[1]
In 2022, the company received funding from the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia to support the development of a localization tool for applications built with Flutter.[1] Localizely was among the few platforms that supported ARB (Application Resource Bundle) files at that time, which contributed to its wide adoption among Flutter developers.[3]
