Despite Cube Creator 3D being often cited as a "Minecraft clone",[5] the game received mostly positive reviews. Bryan Rose of the Nintendo World Report said "I had fun with Cube Creator 3D. The idea of creating your own environment is fun, and the game's creative mode helps you accomplish those goals." although stating that Survival mode "isn’t as fun, and I do wish the game had more larger environments and more items to craft and choose from."[6] Mitch Vogel of NintendoLife said "Cube Creator 3D is not just a forgettable rip-off of Minecraft. While it certainly does not approach the level of depth of that source, Cube Creator 3D's simple presentation offers enough that it successfully manages to capture the adventurous spirit that made its inspiration such a runaway success." [7] Pierre Yves of Digitally Downloaded said "Cube Creator 3D was an interesting attempt to bring the Minecraft experience over to the Nintendo 3DS. While not offering anything overly new, it gets the interface right and makes use of the hardware well."[8] Neal Ronaghan of IGN praised Cube Creator 3D for being a Minecraft clone for the 3DS, and for having a low price.[9] SequelsTwo sequels to Cube Creator 3D were made, entitled Cube Creator DX (2018) for the 3DS[10] and Cube Creator X (2019) which was for the Nintendo Switch and published by ARC Systems Works.[11] Cube Creator X was released on Steam in 2019.[12] See also
