History

Cipher Sports Technology Group was formed in 2021 after a merger between Fiske and Slade's previous company, iRival Media, and Prowd and Woodford's previous company, Hypometer Technologies.[2][3] The two companies initially collaborated to launch the sports betting analytics platform Dimers in August 2020.[4] The founders are Adam Fiske, Katie Prowd, Darryl Woodford, and Nick Slade.[5][3]

In 2022, Cipher Sports Technology Group was shortlisted for the Sports Affiliate of the Year Award at SBC Summit North America.[5] In the same year, the company raised $5 million in a Series A round,[4] and signed a sports betting partnership with US-based media company Advance Local.[6]

In August 2023, Cipher Sports Technology Group announced a partnership with the Pennsylvanian newspaper Times Leader Media Group.[7][8]Cipher would provide predictive analytics and information on both professional and collegiate sports leagues for the newspaper's sports betting section.[8] In 2023, Cipher also launched the Convertr marketing platform, which enabled secure data matching collaborations between sports betting companies and their partners, and announced a partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS) to publish sports betting content on the league's website.[1][9]

Cipher Sports Technology Group was shortlisted for the Best Tech Award at the 2025 iGB Affiliate Awards for its work on the Dimers Platinum platform.[10]

Cipher Sports Technology Group is also the parent company of Australian sports betting website Stats Insider.[4]In addition to its headquarters in Melbourne, Australia, the company also has offices in New York City.[11]Darryl Woodford currently serves as the company's CTO.[12]
