Chopper I is a vertically scrolling shooter arcade video game developed and published by SNK in 1988. In Japan it was released as The Legend of Air Cavalry.[1]
The objective of the top-down game is to infiltrate enemy territory and essentially destroy all objects. The game can be played with 1 or 2 players, each controlling one helicopter.
In Japan, Game Machine listed Chopper I on their July 15, 1988 issue as being the ninth most-successful table arcade unit of the month.[2]
The game was re-released for the PlayStation Portable in August 2012.[3]
