Alan L. Rachins (3 Oktober 1942 – 2 November 2024) adalah seorang aktor televisi Amerika, yang paling dikenal karena perannya sebagai Douglas Brackman dalam L.A. Law yang membuatnya meraih nominasi Golden Globe dan Emmy, dan perannya sebagai Larry (ayah hippie Dharma) di serial televisi Dharma & Greg.

Kehidupan awal

Alan Leonard Rachins lahir di Cambridge, Massachusetts, pada tanggal 3 Oktober 1942, dari sebuah keluarga Yahudi, putra Edward dan Ida Rachins, dari Boston.^[1]^[2] Dia lulus dari Brookline High School^[3] dan kemudian mendaftar di Wharton School di Universitas Pennsylvania, akhirnya keluar, namun berhasil lulus dari Empire State College pada tahun 1974.^[4]^[5]

Dia pindah ke New York untuk belajar akting. Mulai tahun 1967, ia tampil dalam serangkaian drama, termasuk produksi Broadway asli After the Rain dan Hadrian the Seventh, serta produksi asli The Trojan Women di luar Broadway dan Oh! Calcutta!^[1]
